March 7th will mark the 1-year anniversary of our last live Trout concert. There are signs that indicate we may be moving into the next phase soon. This past week, Keith and Ezra both received their first Covid-19 vaccinations and are scheduled to get their 2nd shots on March 19. That does not mean we'll be hopping in the van right away to head back out on the road. It's still too early to let our guard down for gathering people together BUT some Summer and Fall possibilities are popping up for consideration! We'll see how it plays. In the meantime, it's business as usual here at Trout Central.
Box 4 of our Tackle Box Series is ready to go. We call it “Rockin' Teen Combo” as we've gone back to visit some of our youthful roots in these songs. Box 4 contains 4 songs because Rockin' Teen Combo doesn't have to follow no stinkin' rules. The new songs are I Love My Baby, Safe House, A New Set of Tires (on an old set of wheels), and a bluesy tune called Hey Hey Hey Hey, all written by us. March 9th, 7PM Central will also be our next Trout Stream on-line concert. We were going to do it earlier in the year, but Mother Nature said No and sent sub-zero temperatures and several inches of snow to prevent it. Man, that was cold! We hope all of you got through it OK. Anyway, please virtually join us for the evening and you will hear old songs, new songs, all 4 of the Box 4 songs, smart songs, and stupid songs. The 2021 Governor's Arts Awards presentation will be a virtual event this year. The show will be held on Friday, March 19 at 7PM. The presentation will include opening remarks by Governor Asa Hutchinson and Stacy Hurst, Cabinet Secretary of AR Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. There will be a short video about each of the eight 2021 recipients. Trout Fishing in America will be given a Lifetime Achievement Award. The video presentation can be accessed through the Arkansas Arts Council's Facebook page or their YouTube channel.
