September 2022

Dear Fisherfolk,

How is your September? Are you getting ready for fall, going back to school, did you watch an amazing amount of television? We sure did! Ezra has been harvesting his annual crop of cayenne peppers for making his "Switch Blade" hot sauce. (That's getting ready for fall). Ezra also took a trip to Colorado to visit his cousin and got to tour Red Rocks. Great googly moogly! If you've never seen Red Rocks, you ought to go. If you have seen it, you know. What an amazing place! Keith and Beth had a load of firewood delivered yesterday. After this summer, can you even imagine cold weather?! We've been going back to school and studying our instruments and re-learning a bunch of our songs. Keith's taking an extra credit class in fiddle and Ezra is studying drums with an online course. And heaven help us, we've probably watched more television than ever before. There was a time when, if someone asked us if we'd seen the latest Saturday Night Live, we would have sadly shaken our heads and said no. We worked every Saturday.

We are traveling again and our travels will soon take us to Arkansas on 9/24, Kansas on 9/30, New Mexico on 10/15 and Texas from 10/20 through 10/23. We have a show at the 04 Center in Austin on October 20th that you do not want to miss. First of all, it's a great venue. We have persuaded Chuck Cannon to open the show. If you don't know Chuck, you should. We met him a few years ago at Michael Hearne's Big Barn Dance. He's an amazing performer and songwriter. Visit our tour page for links to all of our upcoming shows.

We can't say enough how great it feels to play live music for you. Like we said, we've been working on a lot of music and are excited to bring it to you. If you find yourself on a long road trip (perhaps to come see us) and you're looking for something to do, consider the podcast "Dolly Parton's America". It's an amazing deep dive into Dolly Parton. Whether you're a dyed in the wool Dolly fan or just someone who's been peripherally aware of her, it's a fabulous journey into one of music's great treasures.

As always, we hope to see you soon. Don't forget. Halloween is just around the corner and you know what that means. It's almost Christmas! Ewww. Sorry about that. Just a little social commentary. Remember, live music is medicine. Come on out to see us and say hi.

Troutfully yours,
Keith and Ezra
