October 2025
Dear Fisherfolk,
We’ve been in Festival Land. Our last 3 outings have included appearances at 3 wonderful music festivals. MAGIC! MAGIC! MAGIC! I feel uplifted and inspired in spite of disturbing news and current events. We played the 50th annual Summerfolk Festival in Owen Sound, Ontario, the 23rd annual Big Barn Dance Music Festival in Taos, NM, and the 2nd annual Old Friends Reunion near Prairie Grove, AR. These were stellar events at different stages of their development. It seems that my current age has added a sense of perspective. I’m ‘perspective-ing’ more and more all the time. I feel deep gratitude for our music to be included. Thank you to everyone involved!
But now it’s back to work! WORK! WORK! WORK!———- Nah, just kidding. We’re gonna keep having fun playing music and enjoying our lives. The fun will begin in October in Texas in the cities of Fort Worth, Austin, Galveston, and The Woodlands (near Houston). Check the calendar for specifics. We made this run last year and it was so much fun we just said, “we want to do that again!” so that’s what we’re doing. If you were there, you know. If not, don’t miss it this time. On a side note 🎵- I once finished a late-night breakfast at Waffle House and then proceeded to order and eat exactly the same thing again. You probably had to be there… Quick, change the subject, Keith.
Random Question- What happens when a microscope and a telescope run into each other?
A week or so after the Texas trip, we head out to Georgia and North Carolina. We don't get to this part of the country often, so please send some folks our way. The Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts in Franklin, NC looks like a fabulous venue. I don’t think we’ve ever played there. Gotta be careful with sweeping statements like that. Sometimes the benefits age bestows through perspective must be subtracted from the memory. I do know Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA is legendary. We’ve played it before but it’s been a bit.

Troutfully yours,
