June 2026
Dear Fisherfolk,
Our new album, One of These Days, is now an album! Not “just” a CD anymore. Vinyl, baby! We’re talking old-school, modern-day, hip vinyl! We’ve come full circle back to the days of 1980, when we released our first album, You Bore Me to Death. When it came out, we sold it off the stage for $6 each. I’ve seen it online for as much as $190. I think it’s fitting somehow to return to this format all these years later as we celebrate 50 years of writing songs and playing music together. And it’s just in time for FESTIVAL SEASON.

June 6 & 7 we will be returning to the Kerrville Folk Festival. I believe Ezra played there first in 1974 with Wheatfield. Trout first played the festival in 1988 when we were the opening act for 3 days on the main stage. This festival is dear to our hearts and at the core of our identity as Trout. I cannot even begin to tell you how many wonderful people we’ve met and great music we’ve heard because of this festival. It will be good to be back and see those WELCOME HOME signs.

June 19 & 20 we will return to Effingham, IL for the delightful Moccasin Creek Festival. Comfortable camping, great music, a beautiful, relaxing festival site… We’ve played it twice before and LOVED IT! You will, too.
On June 21 we sneak away for Father’s Day at Wesley’s Place in La Grange, IL. Our friends Ed and Peggy Ellis (Fir, CO train shows) helped set this up. I don’t know anything about the place but it sure sounds like fun. And most importantly, I hear there will be PIE. That’s right. Pie. I will be there.

On June 27 & 28, we will be making our first appearance at The Old Songs Festival in Altamont, NY. I look at the list of festival performers and I’m amazed. The ones I know are amazing, but there are so many I don’t know. New people to meet and hear. Reminds me of a song from my childhood.
“Make new friends but keep the old.
One is silver and the other gold.”
Troutfully Yours,
Keith (and Ezra)
