Dear Fisherfolk,


It is official. Ezra and I have now been playing music together for over 50 years. Although we can’t seem to pinpoint the exact date we started playing together (can you remember what you were doing 50 years ago?) we do know it was in July of 1976. It wasn’t something anyone could have expected to last. I mean really? 50 years?! 


We will be celebrating our 50-year anniversary with a concert at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas on 9/24. It’s gonna be a party! I don’t even know all of what is going to be happening, but you ought to be there with us if you can. There will be memorabilia from over the years. There will be pictures. Maybe a slide show. Maybe a book about Trout. And even a Trout concert. Can’t forget the music. That’s what got us here. But before we get to September, let’s talk a bit about August. 
 

8/27 - Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Georgia. What a great venue this is! I love this place so much that I bought a smaller bass rig just so I can carry it up those stairs. I want to play here. Come on out and bring some friends. Lots of them!
 

8/28- Randy Woods Guitars in Bloomingdale, Georgia. We enjoyed our run through Georgia so much last year that we want to do it all over again. This is also a very cool venue like no place I can recall. Come experience it with us.
 

8/29 - The Down Home, in Johnson City, Tennessee. The wood in this room is an acoustical treat. Such a warm sound. Very intimate seating. This was a regular stop for us for many years. I recall many packed houses back in the day. I sure would like to see another one before this run is over.
 

The outpouring of love at our recent gigs is overwhelming. So many lives, so many generations touched by our music. I can only say a heart-felt thank you to everyone at our recent shows in Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, and Ontario. This has been an awesome Summer! I feel like I need to add some humor to this letter.

 

Q- What does one ocean say to another ocean?

A- Nothing. It just waves.
