April 2022

Dear Fisherfolk,

Hold on to your hats and grab a calendar! This is the newsiest newsletter in a long time. Our biggest news is that our album project, Safe House, will be released into the wild on Earth Day, April 22nd! Safe House features 11 new Trout songs and 2 covers ("Barbed Wire Boys" from Susan Werner and "Up and Away" from Gail Lewis). We'd like to thank all of you who pre-ordered a copy. They are on their way (thanks to our Wrangler, Susan Billimek) and you're going to love them! All songs were recorded in our Trout House studio, which has been our "Safe House" for the last couple of years.

We could never decide on a physical location for our big April 22nd Release Party so we'd like to invite everyone in the world to our Live Trout Stream Virtual CD Release Party. Just plop yourself in front of the internet delivery system of your choice at 7 PM central or tune in early at 6:45 if you'd like to chat with us. We will feature many songs from the CD but we will also include some oldies. Please bring your own refreshments. We plan on having a celebratory shot of hot sauce and maybe some cake to put out the fire. There are several advantages to attending a virtual release party. Pets are always welcome! Drive-time to the event is minimal. Parking is never a problem. AND you don't even have to wear pants! (Please note - We will be fully clothed. We promise!!). Catch the show on Facebook or on YouTube.

And then comes THE TOUR. Like the farmer said when he fell off the wagon, "I guess it's time to hit the road." Our schedule hearkens back to days of yore as we plan on hitting roads in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas.

April 28 - The Red Dragon - This is the premier listening room in Baton Rouge, LA. Chris Maxwell, the owner and proprietor, is a treasure. Super comfortable seating. Call 225-939-7783 to reserve your tickets.

April 29 - Enoch's in Monroe, LA - Enoch's was established by Doyle and Yvette Jeter on St. Patrick's Day in 1980. We've played for these folks since the late 80's. Molly and John, the Jeter children, used to give up their rooms to us when we played in town. Now the kids run the place! Call 318-388-3662 or stop by the pub to get tickets.

April 30 - The 04 Center, Austin TX - This is one of the most comfortable live music rooms we've played in a while. They have a great sound system and seating is spacious and cozy. Opening the show will be Murphy's In-Laws with Craig Calvert and Mike Jackson (not Michael).

May 1st - Main Street Crossing, Tomball TX- Just to the north of Houston, this is another great venue. In the 70's, Tomball was pretty much a drive-through kind of town. It's now a destination!

May 4th - Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas, presented by Artosphere and the Walton Arts Center - Man! That's a mouthful! It's a lovely outdoor event in beautiful surroundings. Bring the whole family and some portable chairs! Hope to see you there.

Troutfully yours,

Keith and Ezra
