Dear Fisherfolk,
We've experienced the trial and error stage of the science fiction novel we've been living in. Our weary brains have entertained futures they never previously dared or cared to imagine. So many constants no longer apply. So many go-to's are gone. But there is a fire burning brightly, an urban campfire of sorts, a light welcoming us back to a stage in front of a live audience. No need to panic or have desperate fun. In baby steps, we are moving toward a new post-pandemic 'normal'. It's Spring! Time for re-birth and renewal. So here we go!
Trout will be back on stage May 1, breaking our year-long musical fast appropriately enough with a Kerrville double hitter! The Kerrville Folk Festival sponsors a series called Music at the Mansion. For social distancing purposes, this particular concert will be held at the Kerrville Folk festival grounds on the Threadgill Stage Trout Fishing in America will play its first live show in over a year. We cannot wait to throw our new tunes at you while mixing them with old favorites. Then we will join Craig Calvert and Connie Mims Pinkerton for a Wheatfield album release party. This is a Covid-delayed celebration of the release of Some People, an 11-song project recorded at the Trout House Studio. These are deep and complicated friendships that span half a century and the resultant musical blend weaves beautiful patterns from our life experiences. I cannot even begin to tell you how much we are all looking forward to this monumental event!!
