April 2006

Dear e-Fisherfolk,

We’re home for a bit of a break from touring right now. Our breaks mean catching up on home stuff. At the Idlet house, there will be a general yard cleaning. The branches that have fallen into the yard over the winter now have to be picked up so the yard can be mowed without destroying the mower. The lawn mower needs to have the oil changed. The tree house is going to be getting baseboards as well as some trim. Have you seen the slide show yet?! Stop reading now. Go see it. There are fish in the Idlet pond that need to be caught and morel mushrooms in the woods that need to be found. There are friends to visit that we haven’t seen for a while and a bunch of summer league basketball games for the young 6’8 1/2″ tall Steven Idlet. Steven is now taller than his dad.

The Grimwoods have rivers to be paddled, a garden to be tended, and cats to be fed. None of this will ever get done if Keith cannot quit working Sudoku puzzles. He already works three to four crossword puzzles a day. But now some horrible, evil people have introduced him to Sudoku. He is so weak-willed and has such an addictive personality that we are afraid that we may never see him again. He hasn’t been able to solve any past the Easy level, but will continue until he can do it or goes blind trying. Have you tried Sudoku? If you don’t know what that is, look in your newspaper for little number puzzle squares arranging the numbers 1-9.

Looking at our calendar, it’s obvious to us that we’re in for a bunch of travel this Spring and Summer. We’re going to be in Arkansas, Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, Ohio, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia in the next couple of months. There’s one glaring omission still on our calendar. It’s Idaho! What’s it going to take to get us to Idaho? Idaho is the only state we haven’t been to. After 30 years of serious traveling and performing, we have yet to play one single solitary note in Idaho. If you or any of your friends live there, talk to your local performing arts center.

We’d like to thank all of you who have signed up to receive this newsletter. It’s our journal and our link to you. We hope that you have sprung forward successfully and are having a good Spring. We look forward to seeing you when we’re in your neighborhood. If we’re not going to be in your neighborhood, it’s time for a road trip! Let’s all go to Idaho and have a festival!

Troutfully yours,
Keith & Ezra
