Nashville Scene
Trout Fishing in America has a longstanding reputation as one of the mostenergetic, innovative live acts on the touring circuit. When they tried torelease an album that captured that spirit, however, their career turned intoa fisherman's tale about the one that got away. The duo just couldn't seem toreel in the big one--until they released their latest disc, 'Over the Limit.'
Comprised of bassist Keith Grimwood, who is a little over 5 feet 5 inches, and guitarist Ezra Idlet, who stands at 6 feet 9 inches, Trout Fishing inAmerica is both aurally and visually striking--a self-described 'power duo'and 'A&R nightmare.'
TFIA's music has always been characterized as a sound that seems too large tocome from just two musicians. The 13 cuts on 'Over the Limit', which werewritten by Grimwood and Idlet, range from the upbeat anthem 'Just a LittleWhile' to the plaintively touching 'Lori's Song' to the offbeat 'DeadEgyptian Blues.'
