Dear e-Fisherfolk:

It's been several months now and we've avoided mentioning it. We've probably just been in a state of shock and denial. Eventually, we have to face reality and the truth must come out. Now is as good a time as ever for bad news. MURRELL'S HAS CLOSED!

We know it is shocking and unbelievably sad. The Shreveport restaurant we 'immortalized' in song has closed its doors forever. Murrell's had been serving customers long before we were ever born and seemed to be impervious to the passage of time. Some say that at the time of closing they still had several of the original waitresses, but we can't confirm that rumor. We do promise that we will continue to sing our song of Murrell's in celebration of better days gone by.

New Projects
And now for better, happier news. Trout Fishing in America is still going strong and WILL NOT be closing down any time soon. We've been doing a lot of writing and recording recently. We have two projects that we're currently working on. Our book, My Name is Chicken Joe, is going to be followed up with another book! We've written a bunch of fun new songs and a story for the new book.

We've also been writing and recording some "grown up" music. It's been a long time since our last full length release of folk rock songs (Closer To The Truth). We're pretty excited about the new tunes and we're including some of them in our regular shows.
