Bring Trout Fishing in America to Your School!
Trout Fishing offers songwriting workshops that bring out kids’ creativity. A Trout Fishing workshop can be a transformative experience–and it’s always fun.
TFIA offers a special songwriting workshop for students grades 4 and up. The workshops are offered as part of a residency program that includes the combination of songwriting workshops and concert. This program is designed to introduce students to the creative process of songwriting.
- stimulates imaginations
- increases interest in music and the arts
- encourages team work
- improves language skills
- builds self esteem
Last but not least, it is just plain fun!
Classes receive a CD of the song they have written with Trout Fishing. Fifteen songs derived from workshop residency programs have made it on to TFIA Grammy nominated CD’s. Big Round World in particular has several songs that began in student workshops.
