Dear Fisherfolk,

"Age is just a number." Right. "You're only as old as you think you are." Right. These are phrases we use to ease ourselves past difficult birthdays. Some birthdays are LARGER and more difficult than others. The only way to face them is to just face them and get over it. Believe it or not, I, Keith Grimwood, am staring at 70! I've never been 70 before!! As a rule, I don't have birthday parties and in these times of COVID, you are not invited over to my house. You are invited to my party but it's an online party. Somehow, that seems appropriate. You are invited to "tune in for some tunes" with Trout Fishing in America at 8 PM Central on September 14 for my Virtual 70th Birthday Party. (My "real" birthday is on the 19th, but at my age, I can celebrate whenever I want) Please bring cake for yourselves because at least one of us is planning to eat cake on camera and we don't want anyone to feel left out. We are still taking a cautious approach to our live performances. There are a few tour dates (including several appearances at the Kerrville Folk Festival) on our calendar and we feel pretty good about them. Many people are trying the best they can to keep everyone safe. Some are not. Enough said. We continue to be optimistic about the future. The Live Streams will continue and you can expect one or two Trout shows a month in limited parts of the country.

We are still working in the Trout House studio on finishing our next CD project. It will be called Safe House and will feature many of the songs we've written in the past year. Interesting times have been ripe with interesting ideas. We still love playing music for you and we will continue to find ways to do it.
