Dear Fisherfolk,

June 1, 2017 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Grimwood family’s move to northwest Arkansas. The Idlet family arrived a few days later. It is so like Keith to insist on being early! We have thrived in our ‘chosen land’. Keith lives on a luxurious 10-acre estate on a mountain just outside of the booming metropolis of West Fork. Ezra is living the dream in an Air Stream trailer in his sister’s backyard. My but we’ve come a long way!
We only have time for a ‘short’ newsletter. Can you guess who was chosen to write it? Think short… That’s right, it’s Keith! Did you know that I can actually stand up in an Air Stream trailer? Some people can’t. So this will be a short letter and I can write anything I want. Bwa-Haa-Haa!! I can feel myself going mad with power! Makes me want to open a Twitter Account. Or maybe not. I am on Instagram as troutfishinginamericaband. You should “Follow” me. Ezra has more Instagram Followers than I do, and he hardly ever posts anything. Poor me. Poor, poor me…

Summer is here. It arrived while we were having a fabulous time at the Kerrville Folk Festival. What magic that was for us! Thanks to all who attended. Trout kicks off the HOT SUMMER NIGHTS festival in Sherman, TX on Thursday, June 1. Hopefully we’ll have time to visit our newly found delicious barbecue joint, Cackle and Oink. Seriously, that’s the name. With a name like that, I had to try it. YUMMY! Then on June 2nd, we’ll be having a CD RELEASE PARTY at THE MUCKY DUCK in Houston. You need to get to the DUCK. It’s a great place to eat, listen to music, and get our new CD, The Strangest Times. Saturday the 3rd, finds us at the Dallas Zoo. We’ve played at this awesome zoo a couple of times. It’s a great venue that just keeps getting better. And don’t forget the other two dates, June 13th in Watauga, TX at the library and a June 18th fundraiser in Pasadena, TX for the Lion’s Camp. Thought this newsletter was supposed to be SHORT? Big things come in little packages, I guess.

In late June we will be at our “BAND CAMP” in Tyler, TX with Craig Calvert and Connie Mims in preparation for our Wheatfield Tour. Wheatfield has concerts scheduled in Houston, Dallas, Tyler, and Austin. Check our calendar for exact dates and places. If you’ve never heard Keith and Ezra making music as Wheatfield with Connie and Craig, you are missing out. Next month we’ll tell you about our tour to CA, CO, AZ, IA, and Terra del Fuego. OK, maybe I’m exaggerating, but not by much!

Troutfully yours,

Keith and Ezra
