Rio Grande Scenic Railroad Concert

We’re back in Arkansas after an intense road trip to Nebraska and Colorado. The first leg of our trip was a 13 hour drive to Scottsbluff, NE. After driving all day, we stopped in a little cafe in North Platte, NE and were seated right next to our buddies, Hillary and Stuart of The Flying A’s! They were on their way from Minnesota to Colorado. What are the chances!? The trip ended up in Alamosa, CO on the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad. Have we mentioned how much we love doing this job? We got to spend two days playing music with Anne Hills and Don Richmond in a gorgeous mountain meadow and riding on a train.

Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds

We’ve been adding a lot of dates to our regular Trout touring schedule. Please read the schedule carefully because more dates with Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds are being slated as well. (Note: Dana Louise is Ezra’s daughter and Keith and Ezra are part of the Glorious Birds). July 30th, the Birds will be playing an intimate show in Tulsa, OK for House Concerts Unlimited. The next night, July 31st, The Glorious Birds will be playing in Fayetteville, AR at Kingfish. On Saturday, August 1st Trout will be at the Fayetteville Public Library to close out their summer reading program. Then on the 7th, Trout will be at First Friday on the Bentonville, AR square. The Glorious Birds will be performing on the main stage at the Fayetteville’s Roots Festival on Sunday, August 30. Someone recently remarked that it was a good thing that we weren’t being called Dana Louise and the Old Buzzards! Both Trout and The Glorious Birds will be at Michael Hearne’s Big Barn Dance in Taos, NM in September.

For you folks in Canada, Trout will be in Owen Sound, Ontario August 21, 22, and 23 for the 40th anniversary of Summerfolk. Performing at this festival through the years has been like finding a vein of gold that has remained a constant source of inspiration and pleasure. Even if you’re not Canadian, this festival is worth the road trip. Summer of 2015 marks 39 years that we’ve been writing songs and playing music together. That’s just 1 year less than Summerfolk has existed. Some of you may be just now finding us and others of you have been following us for a long time. Even after all of these years on the road we still feel a passion for what we do. Thank you for signing up for our mailing list and coming out to our shows.

Troutfully yours,

Keith and Ezra
