January 2015

Happy new year! 2015 will mark the 39th year that Keith and Ezra have been writing songs and playing music together. We put over a million miles on our last two vehicles and have flown over a million miles on airplanes. It’s amazing to think about the longevity of our partnership. There have been many times that we’ve talked with fans that have grown up on our music and are now bringing their children or parents to our shows. Still, when we ask how many people are seeing us for the first time, it’s surprising to see so many Trout newcomers. Whether you’re a newcomer or an old fan, thanks for taking the time to sign up for our newsletter after hearing one of our shows. We’re looking forward to seeing you this new year.

January starts out with Keith and Ezra playing with Craig Calvert and Connie Mims with the group, Wheatfield. This is the band that Ezra was playing in back in the 70’s when he met Keith. The four of us are writing and performing songs from the perspective that we have now as, “much older” if not more mature people. The harmonies musicianship and songs make for an evening not to be missed. Trout will be back in Midland Texas at the Yucca Theater for its annual fund raiser for the West Texas Campfire USA on Jan 11th. If you’re near any of our January dates, come on out to see us. There’s something we all get from live music that we can’t get anywhere else. It’s why we’ve done this for so long.

Moved away from Shreveport to the Pacific Northwest 14 years ago now, and really miss seeing you guys. Do you ever plan to make a west coast swing and introduce all these folks out here to a good time?

It has been a long time since we were in the Pacific Northwest. We would love to get back there. We’ll pass the note on to the booking agent and it always helps if you call or email your favorite venue and request a Trout Fishing concert. Aren’t there some great festivals in your area we should play?
