July News

Dear e-Fisherfolk:

Is it hot where you live? It is in Arkansas and just about everywhere else we’ve been. For a couple of weeks there, it was so hot and dry that the grass stopped growing. Not having to mow is admittedly a bit of a mixed blessing. But the gardens are doing great with plenty of corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, beans, squash, and even a giant catnip plant that attracts bees, butterflies, and well…cats. As usual, we had a wonderful 4th of July celebration on Cove Creek. Independence Day is always special for us as it’s Karen Idlet’s birthday, but this year featured yet another big event. Our long time Trout employee, Patty Lebbing, married Daryl Doyal in a small ceremony down by the creek.

Keith and Ezra provided some music, as did lots of other musicians in attendance. There was great food, music, and fireworks. Congratulations Patty and Daryl. Here’s to many happy years together!

Lookin’ at Lucky
One of the songs we played for the wedding was Lookin’ at Lucky, which happens to be the title cut of our upcoming CD. The tracks have just come back from ‘Mastering’ and they sound great! The artwork and liner notes are coming together and we should be going to press soon. The official release date is September 7th, but we may have a few copies a bit earlier. The songs are geared more to our adult listeners, but there’s nothing a kid couldn’t listen to. We’ve been playing a lot of the new songs at our live shows and they’re going over great. We think you’ll love it!

Ask me about my Boots!
We just got back from the East Coast and we’d like to say a few words (about 100) about some upcoming shows in the West. If you look at your calendar, you’ll see we’re going to be in California, Colorado, and New Mexico, including a return to Michael Hearnes Big Barn Dance Festival in Taos. Be warned! Keith has new cowboy boots and he’s not afraid to wear them. We also have some Arkansas and Texas dates, including a return for a couple of shows at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck in Houston. Come on out and say hello. Remember, CDs are always on sale at our live shows for $10 instead of the usual $15. Such a deal!!!

Troutfully yours,

Keith and Ezra
