December 2008 Part One

Dear e-Fisherfolk:

Let’s go Cruisin’!! That’s right. Trout Fishing in America is heading to Alaska and we want you to go with us! We haven’t played on a cruise ship for years and its time to get back on board. We’ll be sailing on the ms Statendam with our friend, Jack Williams, as a presentation of Traveling Troubadour. Jack is a great songwriter and one of the finest musicians we’ve ever met. The trip includes 2 private concerts, 2 private receptions, social gatherings and regular song-circles. This promises to be a trip of a lifetime, both for the music and the adventure. We leave on Father’s Day, June 21st out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which is exciting for us as that’s a Canadian province we’ve never visited. On the week-long cruise, we’ll visit Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier National Park, College Fjord, and Seward. This would make a great holiday gift that is sure to surprise anyone in your life. The time to book your passage is now as space is limited. Travel must be booked through this link to have access to the events.

It’s Thanksgiving week and this year the Grimwoods are especially happy and thankful. Keith and Beth’s son, Kevin Grimwood, married Maryam Mardanbigi on November 22nd. In contrast to their wild engagement party of this past June, the wedding was a quiet, living-room ceremony with family and a few friends. Emily Kaitz brought her guitar and Keith brought his bass and they provided a bit of music for the occasion. The mothers brought enough food to feed Northwest Arkansas for several weeks. It was a lovely gathering and we are so happy for Kevin and Maryam. We wish them years of happiness together.

The Holiday Season is upon us once again. Friends from all over the country are gathering at the Idlet’s house for a Thanksgiving week feast of music and fun. Trout has a few more shows left this year so check out your calendars and come see us. We’ll be playing in Maryland, Virginia, Missouri, and Iowa. Finally, we’ll be heading to Ocean City, New Jersey for New Year’s Eve. Sadly, there’s still no Idaho, but maybe next year. If you are looking for gift ideas, think Trout. We’ve got plenty of DVDs, T-shirts, and CDs, including our newest release, Big Round World. And don’t forget Merry Fishes to All. We’re told that playing it in December lightens and brightens any family gathering. Be safe and be happy in any way you choose to celebrate the Holidays. Don’t forget to have fun!

Troutfully yours,

Keith and Ezra
