August 2006

Dear e-Fisherfolk:

This letter is coming to you from the Denver airport. We’ve just finished performing at extremely high altitude. Keith is getting a dose of what it’s like to breathe the air that Ezra breathes regularly. The scenery here in Colorado has been truly breath taking. We’ve mentioned before how beautiful the drive is through Glenwood Canyon. If you ever have a chance to drive that stretch of road, do it! Keith wanted to do a lot more driving. He noticed how close we were to Idaho and tried to talk Ezra into driving an extra 18 hours on our days off. Ezra was not convinced so Keith had to settle for an order of fries. We wrote two new songs instead and we’re still waiting for Idaho.

Our big news it that our new CD, My Best Day, will be officially released on September 12th. My Best Day was recorded live in Conway, Arkansas in front of a wonderful and enthusiastic audience. Advance copies of the CD are being well received by reviewers across the country. It captures the feeling of being at a Trout show. You can order advance copies from our website beginning August 25th. Our friend and producer Fred Bogert can be heard playing a variety of instruments on this CD. Ezra even remembered the words to Beans and Weenies for this special performance! We’ve actually been playing the song at our shows recently so Ezra won’t forget the lyrics again.

This has been a busy summer for us. We’re heading home right now for a couple of days off before we leave again. Laundry is so important. When Ezra gets home he plans to spend the night in his tree house even if it is 104 degrees. Several people have asked recently if Ezra has eaten his pie in the sky (as in the song Dreaming) yet. Pie will be on the menu this week.

Troutfully yours,
Keith and Ezra
