Dear e-Fisherfolk,

We’re writing you from Trout world headquarters in the wilds of Arkansas where we’re enjoying our stay at home. We’ve been traveling a lot recently and yes, we still like it. As of the morning of April 12th, Keith had been to 45 of the 50 United States. By the evening of the 25th, Keith had been to 48 of the 50 United States. Utah, Montana and Wyoming were all visited in one great traveling day! Only Hawaii and Idaho remain. Keith was nearly uncontainable in his enthusiasm. He even threatened to drive to Idaho until he realized that it was over four hours away and that didn’t include the return trip.

Trout was recently in Houston, TX and had a chance to enjoy the Bayou City. Houston is where the two of us met back in 1976 and lived until 1992. Ezra took his family and visited some of his old haunts and friends. Not that his friends are that old or haunted. The Idlet family consumed a magnificent Mexican dinner at the Spanish Flower. Ezra had his traditional bowl of menudo that haunted him throughout the evening’s performance. He also took his son by Fonde’ Recreation Center. This is where Ezra scored seven baskets on Clyde “the Glide” Drexler. It’s where Moses Malone passed the torch on to Hakeem “the Dream” in some titanic struggles under the basket. The gym was closed, but it felt good to visit the place where so many great ball players have competed. Keith got to spend a few days with his parents and they all went to a baseball game at the new Enron Field. The Astros lost. This has been a tradition that has haunted the Grimwoods for a long time dating back to Colt Stadium. The Grimwood family has watched many great ball players play in Astro games. It’s too bad more of them weren’t Astros.

We should mention that our video, Family Music Party, which has been out of print for some time now is finally back! It was filmed in front of a live audience at the Austin City Limits sound studio for a PBS special in 1998. Over a hundred PBS stations across the country aired the show. If you tried to get the video but had no luck, now is the time to try again. If you look at our calendar, you’ll see that we’re doing a lot of traveling over the summer. So far, nothing has been booked in Idaho or Hawaii, we are trying, however, to get there.
